Resistance to failure of deposited anticorrosion layer in low-cycle fatigue

Description

Regularities of initiation and propagation of failure in deposited layer on surface defects in case of low-cycle fatique are considered. The results obtained testify to the fact, that before the initiation of defect-induced failure the metal deposited as to its durability is no worse than the basic austenitic steel. It is established, that characteristics of resistance to failure propagation in deposited layer possess considerable anisotropy. The rate of failure accumulation in notches, located across the deposition, is considerably higher, than along the deposition or at a certain angle to it
