Calibration of the airborne radon daughter detector

Description

This paper describes four different methods of determining the efficiency of a radon daughter detector. The detector to be calibrated is based on silver activated zinc sulphide. One calibration method is the conventional method of using a calibrated Am-241 source. Three methods use calibrated reference instruments: a Ge-gammaspectrometer, an alphaspectrometer and a liquid scintillation counter. The determination of the efficiency of a radon daughter detector which has an aluminum-foil on the zinc sulphide is also presented
