Amorphized eutectic powders in Al2O3-ZrO2(Y2O3) system

Description
The method of mechanical breaking of a jet of the melt of eutectic compositions: 67 % (mol.) ZrO2(Y2O3) allows obtaining partially amorphized microspheres from 1000 to 30 μm and less with and without hollows inside. Their structure and phase composition are studied by the physicochemical analysis. A powder produced by grinding in the barrel is studied for its properties and a possibility to be sintered as a pore-free ceramics of eutectic composition which may be recommended as a structural material is shown
