Improving in measuring methods of internal friction and elasticity modulus
Description
Decrease of instrument losses, when using flexural vibrations, permits to reduce measurement errors of internal friction and elasticity modulus. For this purpose a semifree method for mounting of specimens studied is suggested in this paper. This allowed to reduce by an order internal friction background and its measurement error as compared with free and rigid specimen mountings. Measurement error of relative change of modulus of elasticity doesn't exceed one hundredth of a percent. Results of investigation into temperature dependence of elasticity modulus of zirconium iodide are given and it is pointed to the high reproducibility of results. The suggested technique of semifree specimen mounting permits to measure more precisely elastic moduli and internal friction, which is necessary on studying structural imperfections in solids
