Description
There is a gradual increase in the reactor inlet header temperature (RIHT, or TRIH). The impact or consequence is that this may lead to a reactor de rate to ensure sufficient margin is maintained to the regional overpower protection (ROP) trip setpoint. This will result in a major economic impact to maintain sufficient nuclear safety margin. Cleaning campaign is time intensive (outage duration impact). Current understanding is that leading cause is ineffective primary side steam generator cleaning. This is only effective for short radius bend tubes. We are looking for a better way to clean the primary side of the boilers as well as shorten the execution time required during an outage.
