Commissioning the world's first commercial scale FBR at Creys-Malville

Description
The commissioning of the 1200 MWe FBR at Creys-Malville in France is reviewed. The most serious problem encountered was the sodium leak in the fuel storage drum. The test programme and fuel loading to full power are outlined. Modifications to the fuel storage procedures and drum are discussed. (U.K.)
