Description

Measurements of total cross sections of Ksub(α)sup(0)-meson interaction with C, Al, Cu, Sn, Pb nuclei in the momentum range from 1.6 to 7.4 GeV/c are carried out at the proton synchrotron ITEPh by means of a magnetic spectrometer operating on-line with the computer. The method of beam weakening was applied in the experiment; the method included effect of coherent Ksub(α)sup(0) → Ksub(s)sup(0) regeneration in a plate-detector placed in front of the spectrometer detecting Ksub(s)sup(0) → π+π- decays to determine Ksub(α)sup(0)-meson flux with an absorber in the beam and without it. A beam with a wide momentum spectrum was used in measurements to study energy dependence of cross sections. Calculation of total cross sections of Ksub(α)sup(0)A-interactions in the momentum range from 1.6 to 10 GeV/c was carried out by Glauber-Franko model. Values of mean square radii (MSR) of studied nuclei are determined. MSR dependence on mass number A is well described by the parameter 2/3. Comparison of the obtained results with data on total cross sections of Ksup(+-)A-interactions permits to make the conclusion on the validity isotopic invariance for K-meson interactions with nuclei with the accuracy of 4-6%
