Structure of aurora in the midday sector

Description
Data on high-latitude observatories in Barenzburg and on the Heis island were used for investigation of aurora characteristics in the day sector of the oval. It is shown that ray arcs of aurorae, moving to the pole, are observed in midday hours in the same longitudinal range, as the region of intensive aurora of 630.0 nm emission. Asymmetry of aurora characteristics before and after midday was revealed. Narrow zone of more rigid auroral precipitations, where I6300/I5577<1 is observed in afternoon hours in the equatorial edge of red glow. A study was made on morphological characteristics of descrete forms of day-time glows, as well as peculiarities of change of glow intensities of the red and green lines of atomic oxygen during the development of ray arcs of aurorae
