Description
Applying recent legislative and regulatory changes, the action of Asn forms part of a continuous progress approach aimed at further reducing the health and environmental impact of nuclear installations and activities and at providing information on radioactive discharges in France and their monitoring which corresponds as closely as possible the concerns of the citizens. The different subjects tackled in this issue are as follow: the issues of a good management; make sure license assumes its responsibility and answer the concerns of the public; radiological impact of routine releases: realistic approach or conservative approach; assessing the impact of radioactive discharges on environment: present situation and prospects; monitoring of the radioecological impact of radioactive discharges from EDF nuclear power plants; impact of effluent discharges from disused uranium mines in the Limousin; medical radioactive discharges; the continuous improvement approach of A.R.E.V.A. N.C. applied to radioactive discharge/experience of A.R.E.V.A. N.C. La Hague; Standardisation of the radioactive effluents in France; Inspection with sampling: the view of the license of the Civaux nuclear power plant; tritium, carbon-14: myth or reality; discharges from secret basic nuclear installations under the responsibility of the minister for industry; C.L.I. (local information, committee) actions and expectations- how to communicate to the public - the point of view of the Gard C.L.I. regarding Marcoule nuclear site; consultation of public inquiry dossiers/practical exercise on the application to amend the discharge licenses of the Flamanville power plant, March 2007; Discharge management and public perception; a misunderstood and unclear monitoring system; the Nord-Cotentin radioecology group ten years on; chemical and radioactive deposits: the case of the Rhone; O.S.P.A.R. international action for the protection of the marine environment; monitoring by the European Commission.
