Description
With the application of beams of shortlived radioactive ions from the ISOLDE facility at CERN, Geneva, systematic backscattering measurements have been made possible in broad ranges of particle elements and masses. A detailed description of the experimental principle and apparatus will be presented. Reflection coefficient data from the first series of measurements will be discussed. (orig.)
