Calculation of seismic failures of an NPP containment shell
Description
Technique for calculating failures of NPP containment shell, which occur on shell surface after the maximal simulated earthquake, is presented. Dynamic analysis is performed on the basis of the PhENIX computer complex with the use of the finite element method. The suggested technique enables to obtain data on movement of items and on forces, as well as on physical state of materials for each finite element. The technique can be used for evaluation of seismic stability of containment shell. 3 refs., 3 figs
