A variational principle for cosmic ray transport equations

Description
We present a variational principle for solving the modulation equation which would seem to be capable of giving accurate approximate solutions in those cases where direct numerical integration of the modulation equation is not yet available, and where analytic solutions are also not possible. Wir stellen ein Variationsprinzip zur Loesung der Modulationsgleichung vor, das genaue Naeherungsloesungen in solchen Faellen liefert, wo direkte numerische Integration der Modulationsgleichung noch nicht durchgefuehrt werden kann und auch keine analytischen Loesungen moeglich sind.
