Dose field in the region of high gradient from 137Cs source

Description
The depth dose distribution in case of fixed position of a source of the Agam intracavitary γ-therapeutic apparatus with experimental encapsulated sources on the basis of 137Cs is investigated. The measurements were made in a paraffin phantom using 3 types of intracavitary endostates (8, 9 and 15 mm in diameter). It is shown that the dose gradient is considerably higher near the surface of endostate with lower external diameter. The values of the dose gradient for the above-mentioned endostates are equal to 3.7, 3.3 and 2.5 respectively
