Concentration variation of furadan in an Andisol profile

Description

In order to establish the Furadan movements through the soil, solid (soil) and liquid (leaching) samples were taken from andisoles located below pasture and forest from a rural area (Santa Elena) near Medellin city. Water samples were done by means of lysimeters placed at each soil horizon after of Furadan application (six liters of water solution at a given concentration). The sampling was made through six months. Solid phase extraction methods were used to extract the Furadan residues from liquid samples and liquid extraction was used for soil extraction. HPLC was used to identify and to quantity the extracted residues by using a Mobil phase acetonitrile water 75:25. Furadan was found down to 90 cm in the soil samples
