Radiodiagnosis of decomposing lung cancer

Description

The problems of decomposing lung cancer were discussed. Roentgenoscopy, roentgenography, tomography, transcutaneous aspiration biopsy and in some cases bronchography were used. Diagnosis in all the patients was confirmed morphologically. Roentgenologic symptoms of cavitary cancer were described. The variability of the sizes of tumors, the sizes of cavities, theirshape, site, wall thickness and the nature of contents was defined. Special emphasis was laid on the symptoms of inhomogeneous wall thickness and ill defined outlines, irregularity of the internal and external contours. The time course of tumor cavities was observed up to the formation of a thin-wall cyst
