Hadron-nucleus interactions
Description
Recent developments in hadron-nucleus interactions include the availability of new samples of multiparticle interactions from hybrid spectrometer experiments and from new emulsion exposures at higher energy. Further progress in models and increased availability of Monte Carlo versions which can be used for comparisons with the new data should lead to better understanding of the process by which energy is deposited in the nucleus. In this paper the present situation is reviewed briefly and prospects for progress in the near future are discussed. new results on nuclear stopping power in pA and bar pA interactions are summarized, including data on the energy loss of the leading baryon and on characteristics of the resulting final states as a function of impact parameter
