Sixth regular inspection of No.2 plant in Takahama Power Station

The sixth regular inspection of No.2 plant in the Takahama Power Station, Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., was carried out from March 22 to October 4, 1983. The objects of inspection were the reactor proper, reactor cooling system, measurement and control system, fuel facilities, radiation control facilities, waste facilities, reactor containment installation and emergency standby generator system. The inspection of appearance, disassembled parts, leak, function, performance and so on was carried out on these objects, and abnormality was found in a fuel assembly, supporting pins of the guide tubes of control rod cluster, core baffle plate joints and 402 steam generator tubes. The works related to this regular inspection were carried out within the range of allowable dose based on the law. The reconstruction works performed during the regular inspection were the replacement of the above supporting pins, the peening of core baffle plate joints, the plugging of steam generator tubes, the reconstruction of the shock accepting plates of feed heaters, the repair of the baffle plates of moisture separating heaters and so on.
