Cyclic-voltammetric study of Eu (III)-lysozyme (HEW) in presence and absence of Zn (II)
- 1. Dept. of Chemistry, Bhavnagar Univ., Bhavnagar (India)
Description
Lysozyme (HEW) is a polypeptide having enzymatic activity and is structurally related to Glutathione molecule. In the present study the hetero bimetallic complexation of Eu (III) with lysozyme in present and absence of Zn (II) has been explored using cyclic-voltammetry, to reveal the intricacies of electron transfer mechanism of biochemistry and coordination chemistry of lysozyme. The electrode kinetic parameters are calculated and correlated with the nature of reaction at electrode surface followed by the proposed electrode mechanism. (author)
