International cooperation in planning and preparing for nuclear accidents or radiological emergencies
Description
In September 1986 a special session of the General conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) passed two conventions which relate to activities upon occurrence of nuclear accidents or radiological emergencies. These are: (1) The Convention on Early Notification of a Nuclear Accident and (2) The Convention on Assistance in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency. The requirements and implementation of the Conventions are discussed along with the IAEA role
