Description
Preliminary data are presented on the reaction pp→(pπ+π-)(pπ+π-) studied with the SFM at the CERN ISR, at three energies √s=23GeV, 31GeV, 53GeV. Mass spectra of the systems (pπ+π-) show evidence for the double isobar production pp→N(1688)N(1688). Differential cross sections are given. Comparison of slopes and mass distributions for double and single dissociation seems to support the hypothesis of factorization of diffractive cross sections
