Electric power: seven pathways studied by the Ademe until 2060

While indicating the characteristics of a reference scenario, this article briefly presents the six scenarios defined and analysed by the Ademe for the evolution of electric power mix by 2060. These scenarios are respectively based on the construction of 15 EPRs, an extension of all nuclear plant lifetime, a stoppage of all nuclear reactors when they are 50 year old, a stronger deployment of power-to-gas, a lower development of photovoltaic and onshore wind energy for their low acceptability and with a compensation by offshore wind energy, and a high energy efficiency. Main parameters (costs, renewable rate, exports, emission assessments), renewable capacities, cost comparison, evolution of CO2 emissions and avoided emissions are graphically indicated
