IR spectroscopic study of reaction products of indium and thallium atoms with chlorine molecules in inert matrius
Description
IR spectra of reaction products of In and Tl atoms with Cl2 molecules in Ar and Xe matrices in the 420-200 cm-1 range are studied. It is shown that mono- and dichloride molecules are the main products in the given systems Trichlorides are formed in photolysis due to reactions in matrix volume. Frequences of valence vibrations of InCl2 and TlCl2 molecules are measured. It is stated that these molecules have nonlinear symmetric structure (C2v) with the valence angle 115±10 deg
