Cesium-activity concentration in milk to be expected in the year 1987/88

In order to estimate the activity concentration to be expected in milk in the coming year (summer 1987 to spring 1988) 124 samples of grass, hay and silage of the first harvest 1987 were taken in the area of the four large drying mills in Austria and evaluated with regard to the content of 134Cs and 137Cs. The results of the measurements yield expected average activity concentrations in milk at approximately a fifteenth of the maximum values of 1986 or a sixth of the values in winter 1986/87. 4 refs., 1 fig., 5 tabs.
