Increased ductility zones in uranium-0.2% vanadium alloy fractured in tension under high pressure
Description
The fracture mechanism of various structures of the U-V 0.2% alloy is modified when the tension test is performed under high hydrostatic pressure. Zones where the metal shows a very large strain appear. The microfractographic appearance of these zones is described. A strain and fracture model is proposed
