Fabrication of polycrystalline thin film of CuInSe/sub 2/ by a one-step electrodeposition process

  • 1. Solar Energy Research Institute, 1617 Cole Blvd., Golden, CO 80401

Description

A simple one-step electrodeposition process was demonstrated to produce device quality CuInSe/sub 2/ thin films from acidic aqueous solutions. The electrodeposited thin films showed compositional uniformity, smooth surface, and good adhesion. After annealing, the films are shown to possess chalcopyrite structure and exhibit photovoltaic activity when made into devices with CdS top layer
