Radioactivity decay assay of fission products

Description
A brief comprehensive study is presented on experiences with the measurement of radioactivity decay of the fission products of 235U, 238U and 239Pu. The intensity of nuclear radiation from fission products was measured continuously between 1 and 1300 hours after the fission, thus the specific and general aspects of the activity decay rate were determined. A universal measuring procedure was elaborated for the on-site determination of dosimetric parameters of fission products. This procedure is suitable to evaluate and forecast the external dose exposure even for mixed fission products in unknown composition. (author) 18 refs.; 7 figs
