Properties of the optimum Jastrow function

Description
The authors discuss properties of the optimum Jastrow function for an extended Fermi system. A proof is given that this function is long ranged. Estimates are given for the weight factor of the long ranged correlations in terms of the effective mass and the sound velocity. (Auth.)
