Description
This study aimed at a better understanding of skill needs for green strategic sectors and of professional transitions induced by these green sectors, at analysing skill proximities between these green sectors (and also between them and conventional industrial activities, notably lagging ones) and at identifying pools of common, transferable or transversal skills, and at supporting the production of recommendations related to support measures for new skill acquisition and for the adaptation of the training offer. A first part presents the backgrounds and challenges of smart power grids, mobilised technologies and actors, and evokes the role of the European Union in the development of smart grids. The second part addresses identified job and skill needs as perceived by interviewed sectors (electric power transport and distribution, equipment manufacturers, network managers). The third part addressed needs in terms of initial and continuous education and training. Two examples of diploma with integrated skills related to smart grids are presented. Some recommendations are finally made, based on needs expressed by interviewed persons
