Impurity band induced by a periodic array of impurities in a p-wave superconductor
Description
We study the bound states induced by a periodic array of impurities in a two-dimensional p-wave superconductor. The periodic impurities can induce an impurity band in the superconducting gap. The width of the impurity band oscillates periodically as a function of the distance between impurities due to quantum interference between the quasiparticle wave functions scattered by the impurities. We also discuss the effect of the strength of impurity scattering on the structure of the impurity band.
