Physical properties of Smsub(x)Cesub(1-x)Bsub(6) solid solutions
Description
Physical properties and structure of Smsub(x)Cesub(1-x) B6 (''x'' is the share of Sm atoms) solid solutions have been investigated. The existence of the continuous series of solid solutions have been disclosed in SmBsub(5.7)-CeBsub(6.1) system using X-ray diffraction method. The character of magnetic susceptibility temperature dependence shows that samarium ions in solid solutions containing samarium are in the state of different valency. The dependences of electroconductivity and thermo-e.m.f. on temperature and composition and Hall effect on composition indicate that two types of carriers participate in transfer processes: s-d zone electrones and very ''heavy'' electrones of f-zone which appear in transfer processes as f-holes
