Array laser: a technique for the generation of ultra-high laser intensities

Description

The physics of a new concept in large laser-system design are described, which should allow the attainment of focal intensities approaching 1021 W/cm2. The concept involves the use of many small, coherent beams in a particular orientation which removes alignment difficulties
