Magnetic focusing of intense relativistic electron beams

Description

Propagation and focusing of intense relativistic electron beams was investigated in an externally applied longitudinal magnetic field. Evidence is presented that propagation and focusing can not accurately be described by a single particle adiabatic analysis even though the criteria for such an analysis seem to be fulfilled.
