The aim of this paper was to study the amphoteric character of pitchblende as a function of time and pH, in order to determine the equilibrium conditions for streaming-potential measurements in relation to the ζ-potential. Since the rate of sedimentation of the heavy pitchblende particles is very high, the micro-electrophoretic method for measuring the ζ-potential could not be applied. (orig./MM)
