Investigation of uranium sorption mechanism by phosphine acidic ionites

Description

Using chemical and instrumental methods the process and mechanism of uranium sorotion by monofunctional cationites on the basis of styrene and divinylbenzene copolymers, containing different phosphine acidic groupings in element link, and also by cationites, containing simultaneously phosphine- and phosphine acidic groupings, have been investigated. It is found that among monofunctional phosphine acidic cationites uranium distribution coefficients from nitric acid solutions increase in the series SF-5 < SF-3 < SF-B < SFM-1. More favourable conditions for uranium sorption are created when cationites with couple position of ionogenic groups within one elementary link are used. In this case coordination of uranium compound sorbed is realized in the limits of the elementary link and does not cause polymer matrix relaxation
