10 years of V-1 NPP progress
Description
The article present different methods which are used for nuclear power plants data comparison. WANO's operative evaluation approach is described in more detailed way like MEDIAN, Best or Worst Quartile, Best or Worst Ten. According to comparison method of WANO V-1 NPP is ranked in the first (better) half of all concerned power plants in the whole world. Another described measure for comparison is international index INPO. Comparison results place V-1 Bohunice NPP into the first half of total power plants in operation. Moreover, results tends in the long term towards the improvement. So called big reconstruction aiming to safety improvement is mentioned. In the end of the article there is a simulated question for each reader: if he were real owner of Bohunice power plant would he try to decommission power plant with such positive ranking? Many of NPP reactors in the world did not undergone any improvements and there is still a tendency to keep them in operation. (author)
