Quantitative Characteristics of Defect Dimension based on Line Scanning Method of Induction Infrared Thermography

Description

The quantitative characteristics of defect shape according to thermographic images of STS304 metal specimens was performed by applying the line scanning method in induction infrared thermography. The line scanning method applied to induction infrared thermography is a dynamic mode that causes relative motion between the specimen and the infrared camera. Thermographic images were obtained by performing experiments with the following parameters: excitation frequency of 40 kHz, current intensity of 200 A, and distance between the specimen and the coil of 2 mm. The profile graph for each velocity was then analyzed. As results, the parameters for estimating the defect dimensions of the scanning line for the thermographic image were determined, and the temperature characteristics around the defect were analyzed
