Description

Indus-2 is an electron accelerator cum storage ring. It accelerate the electrons up to 2.5 GeV. It is a circular accelerator and has electromagnets to keep the electrons in closed circular orbit. These electromagnets along with the vacuum components are housed in a shielded concrete tunnel. Ambient temperature inside this tunnel has effect on stability on electron beam. To remove the heat from the tunnel and to maintain ambient tunnel temperature, an air handling unit (AHU) is installed. In this paper effect of parameters of air handling unit on ambient temperature stability is presented. The existing air handling unit and tunnel is simulated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
