Destabilizing effects from a fast-isotropic ion component

  • 1. Fusion Research Center, The University of Texas at Austin, Austin, Texas 78712

Description

The destabilizing effects of a fast, isotropic ion component are calculated for the principal electrostatic plasma modes. The change to γk = Im (ωk) is given for a class of peaked energy distributions ranging from mono−energetic to near Maxwellian.
