On the gauge dependence of dynamical fermion masses

Description
Fermion masses generated dynamically in technicolour theories have recently been found to exhibit strong gauge dependence by Kamli and Ross. We show how such dependence can result from using the ladder approximation in other than the Landau gauge. Replacing the bare vertex of the ladder approximation by ansatze that satisfy the Ward identity and fulfill multiplicative renormalizability gives a gauge independent mass, as is simply illustrated here in the leading logarithm approximation in QED.
