Burnout cross section of 159Dy
Description
The burnout cross section for 159Dy for thermal neutrons has been determined to be 8 ± 2 kilobarns. Competing techniques involving direct intensity measurements of the 58 keV line of 159Dy, and a relative measurement of the intensities of the 58 keV and the 82 keV line of 166Dy were used to arrive at this value.
