Stochastic regularization and the axial gauge

Description

We study the compatibility of Breit, Gupta and Zaks' stochastic regularization and the axial gauge in the principal value prescription, by analysing the transversality of the vacuum polarization tensor. A one-loop computation shows the breakdown of gauge invariance by the above-mentioned regularization method. (orig.)
