Investigation on health status of radiation workers of 9 medical institutions in Ningxia

Description

Objective: To understand the health status of medical workers who exposed to radiated environment of low doses in long-term and to provide the basis for scientific management of occupational health surveillance. Methods: To collect the radiation workers health check lists of 9 Medical Institutions in Yinchuan city and the physical examination results were analyzed. Results: 96.5% radiation workers' the personal doses were less than 5 mSv of 9 medical institutions in Yinchuan city in 2014. compared with the personal doses of different radiation types the doses of the dose of the intervention group were significantly higher than those of the diagnostic radiology group, nuclear medicine group and radiation therapy group; External irradiation dose among different service length group has no of staffs statistical significance. The abnormal rates of the index of blood routine, liver function and kidney function among different types have no statistical significance; In different service length group, the staffs of ≥ 20 years group's abnormal rates of white blood cell were significantly higher than other groups, 10 years service group's abnormal rates of ALT and AST were significantly higher than other those of groups. Conclusion: Radiation workers external dose at a low level, long-term and low-dose ionizing radiation may have an adverse effect on the hematopoietic system and liver function of radiology staff.
