Description
This presentation is intended to summarize the physics potential of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and explain the reasons why it is a crucial next step in our understanding of the behavior of nature. Among currently approved projects, the LHC is unique in that it is the one that has sufficient energy and luminosity to probe in detail the energy scale relevant to electroweak symmetry breaking, while also enabling exploration of heavy flavor physics and quark-gluon plasma

Доклад суммирует потенциальные возможности LHC в физике элементарных частиц и поясняет причины, по которым эти возможности можно рассматривать как следующую ступень в изучении природы, поскольку LHC является уникальным, как с точки зрения энергии, так и светимости пучков. Это обстоятельство обеспечивает детальное изучение нового диапазона энергий в нарушении электрослабой симметрии, а также в физике тяжелых частиц с запахом и кварк-глюонной плазмыAdditional details
