Photo-injector study for the ELETTRA linac FEL
Description
A new injector is one of the necessary upgrades to be made in the existing ELETTRA linac to improve its performance to the level required for FEL operation. To this end, the design of an RF photo-injector is in progress at ELETTRA. Several types of RF guns are currently under consideration. The drive laser system, beam optics, diagnostics, and other relevant issues are also being addressed
