Interaction of optical solutions in single-mode optical fibers; the role of disturbing factors

  • 1. Moscow State Univ. (USSR)

Description

The intensity moment method is used to study interaction of pairs of single-soliton pulses with simultaneous consideration of such disturbing factors as optical losses, third-order group dispersion, phase difference between pulses, and rate of change of nonlinear polarization. The role of these factors is analyzed. Explicit analytical expressions are obtained for the soliton collision lengths
