Description

The multiphoton ionization of hydrogen in strong, elliptically polarized microwave fields is a fundamental problem of great complexity. We show how the oscillations in the ionization yield can be understood in terms of guiding principles which account for the joint effect of the effective electric and magnetic fields. (author).
