Description
This paper assesses the economics of an expanding large scale power system which could accommodate renewable energy sources such as wind power, both from the point of view of long term planning using a deterministic model and of hour to hour system control using a time domain simulation model. The results illustrate a planning tool which may be used as a guide to the economics of installing wind power into a system such as the England and Wales National Grid. (author)
