Method of processing waste slurries following adsorption

Description

The discovery concerns one phase of the technological procedure in leaching uranium ores with acids, i.e., processing waste slurry following adsorption when adsorption is preceded by grinding the ore material, mixing phases and acid leaching. The claim of the discovery whose aim is to make slurry treatment more economical consists in that slurry is separated from the liquid phase which is then mixed with ground ore and again treated. It is advantageous to dilute waste slurry prior to phase separation with circulation water and to perform oxidation of iron(II) in the liquid phase prior to mixing with ground ore. This will reduce uranium losses into waste, will make better use of the thermal energy of the slurry, reduce the consumption of leaching medium and neutralizing agent and reduce electric power consumption for pumping slurry into the sludge tank.
