Relativistic nonlinear Thomson scattering of an intense laser pulse as an ultrashort x-ray source

Description

Radiation from a single electron driven by an ultraintense laser field,or relativistic nonlinear Thomson scattering (RNTS) has been numerically investigated. First of all, an ultrashort x-ray pulse of 2 attosecond with photon energies up to 600 eV has been generated under a linearly polarized laser field with a pulse duration of 20 fs FWHM (Full Width Half Maximum) and an intensity of 1020 W/cm2, which is caused by the highly relativistic electron's motion. An interesting moduration structure of the spectrum and an angular distribution of the radiation will also be presented.
