Description
The effect of γ-irradiation on the catalytic properties of LaCoO3 for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide has been studied. The rate of decomposition gradually increases with increase in γ-dose. The enhancement in the catalytic activity is attributed to the formation of chemisorbed oxygen and generation of active donor centres in the semiconductor oxide. (author). 6 refs
